 1947 - Longest Winter - Deepest Snow

That time i stumbled gleefully half-way down Derby Road to the Red Lion Square, staring around in complete amazement at the chaotic scene all over the deep snowy expanse of what had been a busy road, i quickly began to turn as cold as the snow and ice all round me. Within a quarter of an hour, i slitheringly retraced my steps homeward bound as fast as the bodily numbness would allow me. That beautiful, red-hot glowing coal fire was the safest, most comfortable haven imaginable.

At the thaw/flood time, there weren't any frozen bodies found out in the wilds - the Dumbles Etc. because no one could get to them at the time of the snows.
