Hezekiah CLARKE of Heanor
replied on: 5/17/2005 7:02:23 AM Many thanks for that location of Tag Hill, Chrisbin. On the 1851 census HO107/2126 fol 86 sch 135 with Hezekiah CLARKE, Saddler [Master] and his wife Francis are two grand-children, surnamed BAILEY. The Grandson, Frederick BAILEY is aged 34 and is a Sadler [sic] Journeyman, so being apprenticed by Hezekiah?, and born Heanor. I cannot see Frederick BAILEY on the 1861 census, possibly as Frederick can be spelt by enumertors several ways. I would be most interested in knowing whether the History Society knows anything about these BAILEYs - i.e. the marriage of their parents for instance. First [poss.] child born Heanor, may indicate his mother's home parish and is therefore a daughter of Hezekiah. Many thanks for any help and time. |
