Improving Heanor's past Environment
replied on: 5/29/2005 5:47:37 PM

This particular improvement occurred in the last year of our schooldays at Loscoe Road Boys School - 1954.

Several of our class, including myself, were designated to plant a dozen large saplings, which, overtime, would grow into tall, mature trees. These were planted on the pathway approach to the School canteen, by the side of the then girls part of the School.
Does anyone know if these trees survived and did as they were supposed to do - grow tall, strong and shady. It would be nice if they did/have.
Azzabuv.
