One addition - if you go to the building, and look on the wall which faces towards Ilkeston, you can see the sign of an anchor built into the stone work - the only indication really that it is the same place. The path which runs down from Milnhay to join the canal at this point used to be a tramway for coal trucks, before the arrival of the railways. |
