The Radio (Wireless) : 'Workers Playtime'
replied on: 6/27/2005 6:30:34 AM

Workers Playtime started, on the Home Service, on 31 May 1941. During the war, it was always broadcast, from a factory canteen or similar, "somewhere in Britain." For fairly obvious reasons, they didn't say where they were.

The show continued after the war ended, switching to the Light Programme in 1957, and finally ending in 1964.
