Things you dont see anymore

Methinks there's a fair number of rose coloured spectacles out there!

Of the list given so far, I thought I'd go through and list the one's I've seen in the last week or so....

Petrol pump attendant (garage opposite where I work)
Platform shoes (my daughter's)
Prop Plane (don't know what it was doing there, but saw one on Sunday!)
Roller skates - yes, still much in use
Police Officers (but most of the time they're doing the paperwork that they never used to have to do)
Savoury Ducks - found a second butcher last week that sells proper ones - are they making a come back?
Skipping ropes - still very much there, but, as Suzard says, not often in the street)
Jeeps - still in the rural areas
Broken biscuits - one of my colleagues works in a biscuit factory, so we see them regularly!
Marbles - got a fair few in our house (and no, they're not mine)

And as for the things you don't see so much of... well, there's rickets, and polio, and deaths in childbirth; 14-year-olds going down the pit, outside-only loos, 4 kids to bed; to name just a few!

Things haven't all changed for the worse (though I too would turn back the clock in some respects if I could).
