Shops in Langley Mill
replied on: 8/21/2005 9:03:18 PM

I'm conscious that the discussions on shops, both in this forum and in the Heanor Forum, tend to date back to the 60's and earlier. What about other shop names that have come since then and have now departed?

In the 70's, on Station Road, between Wesley Street and Elnor Street, we had:

The Fruit Bowl, run by Ian Stokes.
Taylor's the Chemists
a Chinese Takeaway - not sure of the name.
Sutcliffe's Newsagents.

Can anyone else add to this era?
