replied on: 9/1/2005 12:43:04 PM I believe that Elijah Downing the Gamekeeper (1731-1799) buried in the grounds of Kedleston Hall ia an ancestor. I have used the census returns to go back to philip Downing (1831-1910) he was born in Duffield & married Charlotte they had children Mary (1854 Belper) Georgina (1856 Rotherham) & Millicent (1860 Belper) at the time of the 1861 census they lived at Belper. Any advice on how I can bridge the missing years between philip & Elijah ? Thanks |
