I have now received the marriage certificate of William Booth and Harriet Allen, which took place in the Independent Chapel in Ilkeston in December 1863. They were both resident in Heanor at the time so I can't think why they went to Ilkeston. He gives his age as 18 and she is 17. There is no mention of his father, but hers was Peter Allen. The witnesses were Samuel Peck and June Newton.
If this opens any doors to the Allen family I would be grateful.
