replied on: 6/9/2006 3:32:01 PM According to the book Hanged for Three Pennies, which lists all known executions in Derbyshire, Mr Fretwell was not one of them! Between 1791 and 1800, seven people were sentenced to death for sheep stealing, but not one of them was hanged. |

replied on: 10/21/2005 11:17:45 PM Did you get RICHARD b. 1806 baptised 1837 from the IGI? That's the only place we can find any record of him -or William married to Lucretia Hirst?? This may have been copied wrongly-I will check the church baptism register during the next couple of weeks and see if I can find any trace of them. We may be chasing someone who never existed-it's happened before!!!! Will post when I have more news |

replied on: 10/20/2005 11:27:42 PM So Sorry !! My eyes are going mad from too much working out on the PC, and I lost the plot!! The Parents of William, born 1813 were Richard Duro and Mary Beardsley.Richard was born 1774, and Mary 1777.. Now that makes sense..!! The Baptism record that I have is for a family that I CANNOT link to my tree yet, so thats why I was asking for help. The record shows, Richard born 1806 and baptised 1837, as the son of a William Duro and Lucresha Hirst. This is the family I would like info on. Thanks for your help. |

replied on: 10/20/2005 11:03:13 PM Something's amiss-RICHARD DURO b. 1806 can't be the father of WILLIAM b. 1813-unless RICHARD fathered a child at the age of 7!!!! Was your WILLIAM married to LUCRESHA HIRST as you first stated-or LUCRETIA RIGLEY?? Really want to help you to sort this out. Suz |

replied on: 10/20/2005 9:54:22 PM Richard Duro born 1806 was the FATHER of Wiliam Duro, born 1813. Richard Duro and Mary Beardsley were my 4xgreat grandparents, and so that made William Duro and Lucretia Rigley my 3x great grandparents. (Please see correction to this on next message) |

replied on: 10/20/2005 6:26:18 PM I'm a little confused-Robert's post states RICHARD DURO was born 15/11/1806 baptised 29/06/1837-if this is so, then he can't be the son of our WILLIAM DURO/LUCRETIA RIGLEY, as our WILLIAM wasn't born until abt 1813! Or should RICHARD's d.o.b. be 1836 not 1806??? Are RICHARD DURO/MARY BEARDSLEY in your line? We have their son WILLIAM as being married to LUCRETIA RIGLEY-not HIRST????? |

replied on: 10/20/2005 3:53:00 PM Hello Suzard It was me that put the query in about the baptism of Richard Duro. I have a copy of the baptism record. I read the other info you put in. One correction is that William Duro, husband of Lucretia Rigley died on 13 March 1877. I have a copy of his Will, and it states the date of death on it. If you ever hear of any info on the Richard Duro and Mary Beardsley, I would love it. |
