Heanor Pubs, clubs and beerhouses
replied on: 10/19/2005 1:11:58 PM just had this reply back from Helen Lingwood of Hardy & Hanson brewery. "Samuel Robinson, in 1832, converted an old bakehouse in Cuckhold Alley, Kimberley, into a small brewery. In 1857 William and Thomas Hardy, of Heanor in Derbyshire, made an acceptable offer for Robinson's Brewery. Stephen Hanson launched his brewery in 1847 in Kimberley. We have no record of sales to customers in the years from 1832 to the end of the 19th century - but it would seem to be very unlikely that both brewers were not supplying customers in the Heanor area at that time." |
