What was your first job after school

The big money men at the pits were the ones on contracts. They were paid on results and did they get the big money. When I finished my indentures I was at Ollerton Colliery, 1970ish.
The National Power Loading Agreement (NPLA) had been sorted out. This meant that all face workers received the same rate throughout the coalfields. Contract work still was still carried for some production related activities.
I bet there are a few tales to come about contract work and the local mines.
