Poynters butchers of Market Street are closing their shop on February 24th after trading in the town for around 80 years. This must be the oldest business currently operating in the town centre and will be sadly missed. The word on the street is that Raisins butchers on Loscoe Road are also to close, concentrating solely on their trade catering business. Are we all becoming vegetarians or have we been mugged by Tesco, Sainsbury etc.?
