I remember the Heanor market place fair with great fondness. The thing that sticks out in my mind is playing for gold fish in a plastic bag and it raining on the fair ground with the coloured lights and noise of the rides.

Fantastic picture.

The Society's newsletters ran a series of articles last year on the Heanor Fair, and dragon rides featured heavily in them.

Does anybody remember seeing this ride, F. Cox’s Dragon Scenic?

This ride became famous in later years as Cox’s Neptune.
