St James Pc Codnor marriages

10 Oct 1844 Bishop held consecration service at 11am -admission by ticket only at a cost of one shilling.
1844 there was no Jessop St, Wright St or Mill Lane in Codnor.
1927 Loscoe separated from Codnor to become a parish in its own right.

Rev W. Bates 1884 -Dec 1913 (R&H Dec 1913 gives report of his retirement-solomnized 730 marriages -the first one on Dec 26 1884)

Rev S.Elder M.A. 1914 -1929 a native of Co Tyrone Ireland, became a Deacon in 1901, Priest 1902 Bristol. Inducted to Codnor St James 9 Oct 1914. Moved to Clay Cross 1929. His son Brian Elder was a well known estate agent in Heanor.

I.P.Peile was curate for 24 years 1891-1915
