No - not meccano. This was a wire frame that bent back on itself and the part that spins had a metal stud type of thing on each side. These balanced on the wire frame and with the appropriate wrist movements, the extra piece moved up, over, down and back again. balance/gravity/whatever....surely you remember? Dont know what they were called.
