Yes it did become Sandersons, but I'm not clear about the changeover dates. I delivered papers for Williamsons in 1954/55.
my round consisted of Cromford Road onto Plumtree Terrace then up to Aldercar Church onto Woodlinkin, my last paper finishing opposite Ormonde Golf course. Sorry I Can't help with the dates.
Another couple of shop's I missed was Arthur Townsend,Greengrocer. on the corner of West Street and North Street. does anyone remember the sweet shop on the corner of Ormonde Street opposite the Gasworks entrance? or the chip shop in Ebenezer Street.
