Robert
It was still operational in the 50's, I don't know whether Roger can remember him, but there used to be a bobby Smith used to patrol around Langley Mill, and he once caught me scrumping in a orchard at the back of Hallam's house in George Street when the top jitty was still open. A few kind words and a clout until I got home and Dad was waiting with another.

P.S. Robert I wrote this before I saw your bit on Local Dialects
