Charles Napier houses, Aldercar
replied on: 3/12/2006 10:47:48 AM Suz The residential caravans you refer to behind the Charles Napier belonged to a Family named Smiths I used to deliver papers there in 1953/4 Tony Smith, one of the sons from a family there was in my class at Langley Mill Boys School. His parents,Grandparents and several other relatives had caravans on the site, when I used to collect the paper money on Saturday mornings I was invited in, at first a bit wary, but inside was full,China,Silver etc. and beautifully decorated.I believe they were a retired "Travellers" family.I think the land had something to do with Horace Pearson but I'm not sure.
