You don't see many photos of East View Terrace (or Pender's Row as it was called), but this one, dating back to the 1940's/50's, shows some machinery being delivered to Aristoc, with the end of East View Terrace clearly shown. A rare picture.

Memories! nice photo, when these crates used to arrive the gaffers had the pick of the timber there were many sheds and fences in the area made from "Aristoc" timber.
Eastview Terrace 1945/early 50's.
14 Houses if I remember correct.1st one next to the jitty was Ivy & Ron Beastall,I remember the old lady who Kinza mentioned,Mrs.Garnet, her daughter lived next door I think their surname was Hand, they had a daughter named Audrey. There was another older girl lived on the row her name was Marion Derbyshire she had a built up shoe on one foot and a lot of the kids were frightened of her, then there was a Mrs.Danforth she lived at No.12 and Harrod's lived at No.14 Roy,Jean and Colin. When Harrods left to go down Milnhay a family named Boardmans moved in,they had a son Alan, and a daughter June.
On the row itself there was a large stone circular post near to the jitty,it had a dip in the middle where we used to play marbles, nobody seemed to know what this post was,it was very similar to the one outside the toll cottage on Aldercar Lane,I wonder! We also used to play in the Gasworks,we had some great slides and a rope.At the far end of the row was a static water tank where we used to fish!for tadpoles and newts, and on the land between the tank and Pickersgill and Frost we used to have some good dens! We also had slides and dens at the back of the offices. On the other side of the road was a piece of land which went from Frost's to the Gasometers and stretched down to the railway."The Tip" apparently used by Lovatts in years gone by,we did used to dig and get the occasional old unfired crocks.
When the static water tank was demolished, the first building I remember was McIntoshes who used to make fancy goods and mum worked for them for a while, was this the beginning of Nuthall Lighting before they moved to Codnor? Followed by Alan Eyre.
