 Old maps of the area

If you persevere with the old maps you can get an enlarged map in another window. The next thing is to right click on the enlarged map and save it. The last time I did this I renamed the map but retained the "bmp" extension.

You then view or crop the saved map in the Microsft Paint or your graphics manipulation program.
