It only finished Sunday Ice-had to watch winners week! Recharging batteries and will be back very soon!!!
I ddo have an advert somewhere for the Hallams when they were trading from there -pandoras box here I go!!!

hi iceboy i have had a look at the photo and the building near the church was the hallam bro,s ie vic and jack hallam and they started their business there before moving to the langley mill site

yes i've been on there too peter..did noticed that they repeated some though,but still very interesting.in one showing where the dentist is now,it looks like the cemetery comes right up to the main rd.one especialy showing a shop at the bottom of prospect rd and one on the main rd near the church showing a building,who would the shop belong to and what was the building for near the church.and in one picture the main road is describe has "the boulevard".

I have had a look on the picturethepast web site. There are some fresh pictures of Marlpool worth a look at. They are of the Ilkeston Road/Breach Road area and probably pre 1950. There is a view of the Ilkeston Road and Breach Road junction with no sign of Buxton Avenue. What traffic there is on the roads appears to be of 30s vintage.
