replied on: 7/17/2006 12:06:26 PM The four houses named after Derbyshire Dales were only started about 1962, shortly after Dr Farmer-Little became Headmaster. Before that there were six houses. Two I can remember are: Cheshire (red)[named after Leonard Cheshire]. Castle Oriel (Yellow) The other four colours were: brown, blue, green (of course) and white. Can any readers remembewhat these othere four houses were called? [Entry edited on 24-07-06, I found an old exercise book, on which I had written "Cheshire (Red)". My original entry had cheshire as brown, which was wrong.] Wesley |
