An enquiry received - can anyone help?

"We have discovered we have a mine shaft in our back garden in Ashforth Avenue, Marlpool. We have been told it was the Waterloo seam from Langley pit, last worked in 1924. Can anyone provide any information as to whether this was an air shaft or an entry? Can anyone supply any records as to the "capping" of this shaft? Any help at all would be very much appreciated."
