Closure of Langley Mill Police Station

Jenny Eastwood & Kimberley Advertiser 27th Sept 1957 HEANOR PROPERTY MARKET LANGLEY MILL OLD POLICE HOUSE SOLD There was an excellent attendance at the Town Hall, Heanor, on Monday, when Bryan Elder, F.R.I.C.S., F.A.I., chartered Surveyor, of Heanor, offered the following interesting properties for sale: The Old Police House, No 62, Station Road, Langley Mill, with useful range of out-buildings, sold for £2,100 after very keen bidding; the Old Telephone Exchange, nos 142 and 144, Station Road, Langley Mill, in their present condition, sold for £775, three out of eleven lots of the Brentnall Estate, Heanor were sold, and the remainder may be negotiated for privately. The solicitor for the police house was Mr. D. G. Gilman, Clerk to Derbyshire County Council, and the solicitors dealing with the Telephone Exchange were Messrs Ellis- Fermor and Shephard, of Ripley. |
