Well my grandad george died in 1991 aged 74 sadly and also sadly i dont have the steam loco ( a 5 inch gauge live steam single wheeler, vaguely GCR in design called the 'rowney queen'). When he died my younger brother who wasnt even born when you left claimed my grandad had left it him and as theres little more squalid than squabbling over a will I let it go. And he sold it a few weeks later. I wish I still had it. The track as you may remember was made of bedirons and yes I well recall him pushing us around in it. And the garden shed built like a signalbox. Very happy times (sniff). So many things to remember, i'll send you an email but before i go one tale that may amuse. Your dad had on his layout two triang green brush 2s (d5572) and when I was a kid I always called the real things 'Kenny Greens diesels' and sad to say I still cant see one of the real things without thinking of that even though im now 43. Cheers Russ |
