I'm intrigued as to who you are now, since I obviously have met you at the meetings!

On the Heanor section of this site, there is a thread on Heanor Secondary/Grammar teachers, which includes as full a list as you will find of those who taught there.

The entry for W.T.Clarke is that he taught from 1895 to 1916, and was a science and maths teacher.

For those who were not at the meeting, we have discovered that this Mr Clarke was the grandfather of Charles Clarke, Home Secretary until earlier this year.

Think this one is going to be replied to by ReeMee first.

In the society meeting they discussed finding a plaque one of the first teachers in Heanor a Mr Clarke and wanted to know if anyone had any further information.

Can anyone remember the full name of the teacher and the period that he taught?

bad memory... me?
