 Any researchers of the Heanor Ray family?

I don't suppose they describe the Church before the rebuild do they? The only description we have so far is Cox's and his seems more based on documents that he has been seen rather than a visit to the site.

I'm finding conflicting reports so far about the condition of the old church, one side says that Corfield loved the old building but by the time he came as vicar it was too far gone to save, the other says that he couldn't stand the building and was glad of the excuse to demolish it.

Personally from reading his report on finding the tomb with the knights in it under the church I'm inclined to believe the former, but a contempory account would be interesting.
