Chicken Steps replied on: 10/19/2006 12:54:53 AM This is a picture of "Bennerley" on the Chicken Steps, circa 1947. As he says in his email to me, "They were blocks of gritstone set into the wall of the dam to the left of the bridge (i.e. if you were facing Woodside Pit direction). Why they were called Chicken Steps I do not know. Where they went I do not know either though I suspect they now form a nice path in someone's garden."
