I was born at number 10, which was my grandparent's house. My grandfather, Tom Wheeldon worked at the colliery offices. It seems from recent posts that the cottages were home to several colliery employees/managers. Does anyone know if the entire row was owned by the Shipley Colliery Co. or NCB? I would still be interested to know if the cottages were originally built by the Great Northern Railway for the staff of Marlpool station.
