Langley School Claramount

Miss Henson certainly wielded a large plimsoll too! Used to throw it at children who were talking! I've got my old school reports in front of me now - It was "Heanor Marlpool Boys' County School".
Standard 2 report 1953 signed by Miss Henson
Standard 3 and 4 signed by Geoff Buxton
Last report signed by Tom Kew himself.

I really enjoyed life at this school (apart from when the cane was administered!) and played in the footy team. I have a picture of the team somewhere - we used to play in red and white stripes and white shorts. The pitch behind Langley Infants was on an incredible slope. I was the left winger, and when playing towards the swimming baths I swear the corner flag was higher than the crossbar of the goal! I remember David Holmes, Timothy Hartshorn, Charles Bartram (goallie in the pic), Paul Harvey, Aubrey Marron, Patrick Tudor, David Cockayne, David Musson ..
