Bert was born at West Hallam in 1882.I recall him being Headmaster at Langley Mill He was as i remember a Short man but not afraid to use the cane According to Jenny's report he must have retired in 1947

RETIRED SCHOOLMASTER
Mr. B. T. C. Evans
As briefly recorded last week, the death took place at his home on Saturday week of Mr Bertram Thomas Charles Evans of Midland Road, Heanor. He was 86.
Mr Evans was a retired schoolmaster serving Langley Mill Boys School for 45 years the last eight as headmaster, before his retirement at 65. He was a keen churchgoer, worshipping at St Lawrence’s Church, Heanor, and a member of Heanor Conservative Club.
In April last year Mr and Mrs Evans celebrated their diamond-wedding anniversary and his wife, Margaret, survives him.
