I really must get round to compiling an index to the photographs which the Society has published (let alone the ones we haven't!)

On page 8 of 'Life in Old Heanor' there is a photo of Enoch Shaw and a class of his violin pupils.

The caption reads: Mr Enoch Shaw and his class of local boy pupils 1906. The violins and bows cost one pound each and the cost of learning to play was 9d per lesson. Mr Shaw was employed at I & R Morley's and played in the orchestra at the Heanor Empire for a number of years. He was in great demand to play at local dances and musical events.
