Hullo, I'm a late entrant to the discussion about Clara Holbrook's autograph book. She was the daughter of Harriet Holmes and John Holbrook and her younger sister was Ella, later Lovatt. The signature of John Holmes in the book was probably that of her grandfather and my great grandfather; Mary Holmes was probably his second wife whom he married in 1886. I remember in the fifties being taken to visit Ella Lovatt - an imposing old lady.
