replied on: 3/28/2008 3:06:35 PM HI Brough22, I may be able to help a little - George Henry and Violet Marianne had a son, George Henry who was b 23 June 1920 and was baptised at Heanor, St Lawrence 15 July, 1920. Address given as 31 Nook End Road. They had a daughter Mary, baptised 11 Feb, 1926. Address given as 24 Nook End Road. Occ given as Miner both instances. Elijah Brough married Ann WRIGHT, May 21, 1871 @ Heanor St Lawrence. Age given as 19th year for him and 16th year for her. Fathers: George Brough, Labourer and Thomas Wright, Collier. Age given makes a birth year of 1855 for George. Elijah and Ann had a son - Arthur, baptised Heanor, St Lawrence April 26, 1896. Address given as Providence Place, Heanor and occupation as Miner. This I am sure of as I have copies of the church records. Just to toss a spanner in the works, I also have information on a George Henry and Florence, who had a son Bertram, baptised 11 June, 1908 @ Heanor, St Lawrence. Address given as 64 Loscoe Road,Heanor and Occupation, Miner. I have this copy also but dont know where it fits in. Would love to share any info as I have been trying to piece together these families for a while and its not easy going. There were so many of them and they used the same names many times in a generation. My great Grandmother was a Brough. Hope this was of use. FC |

replied on: 3/25/2008 5:17:28 PM Hi is thare any one who can help me put a few moore bit of my puzzle together im trying to find out about my grand farther george henry brough who was borne in heanor in 1896 he was marride to violet minnie brough formaly brown and i think george passed a way in 1934 in a minning acedent i think his parents are elijah brough and annie brough formaly wragg george had three sisters sara ada mary and dinah and i think george and minnie lived in claxton terrace |
