West - Francis and Thomas
replied on: 4/4/2008 9:57:29 AM I am not professional!!!! LOL ! I just love local history and family history -as most of us do on this site. There are lots of members of this site who are far more knowledgable than me. On here there are lots of people with local knowledge who all pull together under the guidance of Robert. Your family probably moved intitially to an area here FWKnitting was a big part of the local industry -then when they went into coal mining they would move to different mines - they moved a lot more in those days than we realise. Cresswell as a "Mining Village" -and collieries would have their own housing available One line of my family moved around with the collieries- also a lot moved to Sheffield Yorks with the steel industry. So it wasn't unusual |
