Strong's Shoe Shop
replied on: 4/4/2008 6:28:53 PM

Hello Talltomuk
Strongs shoe shop was on the opposite side of high st to Tesco but it was further down past the Derby Arms pub and straight across from what was a small hat shop and Richards Hairdressers, as far as I know 1960s through to about 1979. They are now flats. I don't know how old your great grandad would be, but the Mr Strong who I lived next door to between 1977 and 1983 had two grandchildren I knew who will be aged around 51 and 47. I knew them from school. This Mr Strong (who ran the shoe shop) lived on Hands road Heanor. I know he died several years ago but can't remember the year. He must have been well in his eighties.
