When I was very young in early 60s I can recall it being very unkempt on that part and it being left to grow wild. Heanor rectory was straight opposite where the baths are and it was demolished in 1954. I don't know anything about this place though.

sherry	haunted houses in heanor replied on: 5/17/2008 10:26:42 PM As nobody has replied I must be very strange as I have experienced a fair few unexplainable goings on in my time. I wonder if anyone can shed any light on this - though it didn't happen to me, but my brother and his pal. It happened on Hands road sometime in the late seventies. This pal lived on or very near to Hands road. They would be about fourteen at the time and as young lads do when stopping over at each others houses they would tend to stop up most of the night talking and getting into innocent mischief. For whatever reason they decided they would 'camp out' behind the generator of the swimming baths. They were talking when they heard someone making weird noises coming from the road. Wondering what was going on they cautiously looked out from behind a wall and have never been able to rationalise what they saw. A man in the middle of the road who suddenly started running up it towards the high street at a tremendous speed zig-zagging all the way. And even stranger was that they could only see him from the waist up. I imagine this was enough to send them straight back to the pal's home and lock the door!
sherry	haunted houses in heanor replied on: 5/7/2008 7:30:20 PM Its been really quiet on this site for some time now so I thought I would try and introduce a new topic. Has anyone lived in a haunted house in Heanor? Or had a strange unexplainable experience in the area?
