Not sure where my fishing nets came from but do remember the 2 pen'orth of kali. The stuff that turned your finger and tongue a virulent shade afterwards.

did you take your jam jar with a string handle and call at Jack's for a fishing net (just inside the door)and then down to the dam to catch a fish.

Does anybody know the history behind the little store on the corner? Was it always a grocers? Who were all the owners? When was it actually built? It was there on the picture looking up Denby Lane listed on the Ghost Story page of the web site.

The rounded doors were always neat and it was a shame they disappeared. It was quite a thriving little business when I was a kid.

There must be a story or two out there....
