One can only handle so much boredom

OOC: GRRRR! I had a good post started and lost it cuz my comp killed itself! *curses in haradrim and starts again* ><

Hennet: The magical missile whistled through the air, unerringly colliding with the tiny insect. But, it seemed, for every one he managed to obliverate another movement would be caught by his wandering eyes or further buzzing by his ears. Spells fired away and flies died and new scorch marks alighted along the shop's walls.

It was a warm day in Dwarven Cove as was typical for the coastal town for this time of year. People meandered aimlessly or strode with purpose down the weaving pathways. The constant murmuring filtered in from the outside world to Teng's Shop. Hennet only paid it half a mind, focusing on annihilating every last fly and gnat he could find.

The store was positioned in an ideal spot, along one of the roads leading directly from the docks. It was in about the middle coming inland from the ocean and on the more western reaches of the city. Teng's name was one well known--for better or for worse--and so it was not uncommon for his shop to be filled with numerous customers throughout the day.

Yet it was coming to high noon and no one had much come to keep Hennet entertained. He didn't always mind watching over his best friend's little tradespost, but it could be so damnedable boring! And there was only so many flies to kill.

Finally, with the last one dead, the sorcerer lapsed quickly back into boredom. He sat staring towards the front door for some time before springing to his feet to stride and open the thing. Perhaps then others would feel more welcome. If he'd really thought it over, Hennet likely would've surmised his antics and the pair of gentle reposed heads sitting atop the counter often enough frightened people more than intrigued them.

The tall man's green gaze drifted to a boy across and a little ways down the avenue. Apparently the lad was trying to impress a nearby female. Hennet gave an amused smile. I want a fight. Came a purring voice inside his head. Hennet smirked. 'You and I both,' he sent his thoughts back. Glimmer, as he'd come to affectionately call her, always wanted a fight though. She lusted for it. Hennet lusted for thrill and excitement..adventure and challenge.

Leaning against the threshold, he idlely watched the young lad's failing attempts. Seemingly at rope's end, the boy tried to lift a box obviously too heavy. With a soft whisper and twidle of his fingers, Hennet mentally commanded the object under his control. Skillfully the mage lifted the box with his will alone. The lad's eyes shot wide at his seeming accomplished feat. Be it his expression or the triumph, he now had the lady's attention.

Musing that had she been older he himself would've wooed her, Hennet turned back into the shop. Flicking his flowing cape back off one shoulder, the man vaulted over the desk instead of pacing around it for a small rush. Flopping back into his seat, Hennet kicked his legs up onto the counter and eyed the door idlely. At least if nothing else, more flies might find their way in.

Hennet: Resting his hands clasped together upon his lap, the sorcerer began to allow his head to droop. The flies weren't coming in as much and so be it. He really didn't feel like expending any more spells upon the pests anyway. His or from scrolls. It seemed like just another lazy day. While he didn't altogether mind it much, he rather wished Teng would return so he go to the tavern or something.

Do not drowse! Let us off to battle and conquest! It'd be far better worth our time. Hennet absently waved one hand as if fluttering away a bug. 'Promised Teng I'd watch the bloody shop.' You're watching it with your eyes closed. 'Yes, well,...' Hennet just allowed his thoughts to drift off at that. No one was going to steal anything. Even with his eyes closed and head nodded, the man was alert enough, and he knew even if he wasn't Glimmer always was.
