Name: Floyd Phoenix
Alias: "The Warrior", "The Gladiator"
Race: Anthropomorphic Cat
Age: 25
Sex: Male
Occupation: Fighter
Ht.: 5' 11"
Wt.: 220 lbs.
Eye Color: Brown
Hair Color: Brown
Weapon: Golden Claw on right hand; can fight bare fisted
Armor: Fighter's Suit. Not very durable, but is light and allows him to move freely during combat.
Magic: None.

APPEARANCE:

He is a shed under six feet tall, and a well-built, almost stocky 220 pounds. He has little body fat. Has brown eyes, and dark brown hair, usually combed backwards. Recently, he cut it a bit shorter. Sometimes sports a goatee (with no moustache), or just a "soul shadow". Has a few piercings in his left ear, and one on his right. No tattoos. Yet.

Has a default expression which might be misinterpetted as boredom or mild annoyance. He has a good, muscular build, but isn't "muscle-bound". Has a long cat's tail like Isis. His fur is brown and light tannish. Has sort of a "squared jaw".

Wears a cloth and leather tunic--a basic fighter's suit for combat. It's sleeveless, and is brown, red, and green. He has a gauntlet strapped onto his right arm, made of leather and gold-plated mithril. It has three protruding 10-inch claws, used for killing.

STORY:

Floyd was raised to be a gentleman, and to mind his manners. Because of this, he doesn't particularly like when someone is very rude or obnoxious. He came from a loving home, but they didn't have a lot of money. Okay, so they were borderline broke. Seeing his family like this pained him. He was always a natural athlete, and quite strong, so he decided to take up the art of fighting for sport. He read about champions making a lot of dough, so he figured "Why not me?"

He took up sparring at first so he could learn his trade before stepping into the ring. He was a quick learner, and "physically smart". He had quick reflexes, and could take a hit, let alone was always in very good condition. He also hit very hard, and had power in both hands, be it from a left hook, right cross, uppercut, or overhand right (or even body blows). Because of these qualities, he was excited to be signed up as a sparring partner for the world heavyweight champion! He was elated, and told his family of this, and they were proud of him.

He learned quite a few things from the champion, Roy Paladin, a young, brash anthro hedgehog. He also learned how arrogant a person could be. Roy didn't treat Floyd well, nor respected him much. Roy saw Floyd as a "dumb kid who didn't know any better", and felt that he "just wasn't that bright". One day, they were trying out a technique which would leave Floyd open for a counter shot. Roy promised that he wouldn't hit Floyd, so Floyd trusted him. When the sparring partner did the move, Roy nailed him on the chin as hard as he could. Floyd took the shot well, but his emotions didn't. He grabbed Roy and tried to wrestle him out of the ring. They were separated, will Roy smiling. Floyd had had enough. He told off the champion and also that he was going to turn professional for the sole purpose of "kicking his ass". (Well, that was partially true, since he did want to become rich and take care of his family.) Floyd stormed out of there, never to look back. Deep down inside, Roy Paladin was impressed that the cat could take his best overright right shot like that.

Floyd Phoenix did turn pro, and won his first 19 fights...all by knockout. He then challenged the WBC Heavyweight Champion, Zeron, an evil birdman swordfighter Fiend who took up boxing (but had his wings cut off as punishment for losing in the ring). Some said that Zeron was passed his prime. Floyd demolished him in two short rounds. Floyd would eventually win the other two major belts, thus unifying the championship, along with never losing AND winning all of his fights by KO.

Floyd would then fulfill his promise. He took on challenger Roy Paladin (he vacated his belts to travel to another world to fight evil [Legends of the Chosen]). It was one of the biggest fights ever, and they both basically beat the living hell out of each other. When it was all over, Floyd was announced the winner after fifteen rounds by split decision. Roy was the first opponent to last the distance with him.

Eventually Floyd would retire his belts (thinking he had "nothing left to prove"), and besides, he was rich and supported his family very well. They could comfortably live out their lives without having to worry about anything. So Floyd stopped fighting...but...most fighters can't just "turn off" their will to fight. That said case was the same for Floyd. He regained a title from a Fiend, and then soon took on another opponent (Xavier Avenger), but wasn't fully prepared and suffered a stoppage. He revenged his defeat twice over. He would win some and lose some, and in 2002, he beat the "invincible" Kusahm for the undisputed title. He went on to successfully defend his title several times against the upmost of competition. He would lose it two years later in the rematch.

"The Warrior" wanted to test his skills against other opponents in other worlds, not just his own. That's the main reason he joined the ranks of "The Legend of the Chosen". After he lost his title to Kusahm on points in 2004, he would fully focus on fighting for real--not just for sport. His cousin, Isis, would travel to the same world to protect him with her magic. Floyd travels with Roy (now a wolf, and not as arrogant as he once was), and they both have a mutual begrudging respect for one another.

Floyd Phoenix is slowly starting to realize that he has developed feelings for his traveling companion, Temple, a summoner. Whether she feels the same way about him is yet to really be seen, although she seems to care for him as a friend at least. She summoned him a small, woodland creature to keep him company and cheer him up after he was poisoned by a boobie trap--he would rest at their "base" for a week or so to recover.

PERSONALITY:

Floyd is easy-going usually, and humble. He always tries his best when fighting, and would rather die than quit. He isn't exactly the smartest of furs, but he has a good heart, and is very protective about the ones he cares about. He doesn't like show-offs.

He is one to jump to conclusions often. He's naturally paranoid, in a sense, and can be stubborn with his unproven beliefs. This same stubbornness, however, has helped him win many fights where otherwise a lesser man would've folded. He would die for his family, and gets intense levels of rage if anyone were to harm one of them. He has nightmares of his loved ones being slaughtered.

He is quite close to his cousin Isis. They are more like brother and sister. They compliment each other well, by personality and fighting abilities. He is the "brawn" while she is the "brains", if you want to get cliche. Yin and Yang.

He trains fiercely. He does not partake in any form of tobacco smoking. He doesn't like to drink ale, unlike his buddy, Roy. Floyd might have one social drink to be friendly. He appreciates and respects honesty. He doesn't really like trash talk. He has a rather big appetite, but because of good genes and his dedication for physical fitness, he doesn't gain unwanted weight.

He isn't exactly knowledgable dealing with the opposite sex. Despite not fearing any man, he can be quite shy around women. He did not "become a man (so to speak)" until rather recently. He's still naive in certain things. There is a lot he needs to learn about women, and if he is going to try and win over the soft-spoken Temple, he might learn some lessons the hard way.

He has "warrior's blood" running through his veins. Ever since he was very small, deep down inside, he subconsciously "knew" that he was destined to be a fighter--a great one at that. He has dreams of killing opponents with swords, and other various sharp weapons. It might very well be the case that he is a reincarnation of a great warrior from the past.
