Can anyone suggest a good introductory book on knot theory for (and possible somewhere to downlaod it if possible....)???

Kauffman's book on knots and physics is the bestI have read. I am sure there are plenty of other books.

Thank you again for your suggestion- I will probably go look at that book now. I only ask because I have a proposed proof of the Goldbach conjecture which relies on knot theory, so I wanted to learn what I could and then go over the proof and see if I feel it is valid and justified. Thanks again!!
