Fractal Geometry

Would anyone have an idea of how to describe a coordinate system based on fractals? I ask because I have been doing a little with the Lebesgue measure of the n-ball, and I was wondering about its analog for fractional dimensions; however, I would need some sort of fractal coordinate system in order to recover the measure.
