How can I make my 89 stop doing long calculation without pulling out the batteries?

Hi,

Can I ask you what calculation you Ti-89 is freezing on? Maybe you've found a bug in the calculator.

Thanks for replying,

For example:
command: solve(e^3x=4x^2-3x=1),
responds:warning more solutions may exist, then it takes about a minute or so.

it takes a less time by introducing a log, but my problem is that on a timed test I would rather free up the calculator and move on, sacraficing the point.

Is there a way to make it stop calculating?

Hi,
I don't have that calculator so I can't offer specific help. An idea though might be to press the reset button on the back of the calculator. This is of course providing that you don't have inportant information stored on the calc. The reset button is hard to get at usually though, I think you have to use a small object to push it.
