I love Jim Butcher. I buy his books as soon as they are released in hardcover and as soon as I have the money. I bought Academ's Fury today and can't wait to start reading it. I have decided that I'm going to have to wait until after the 4th to start it though. I'm on 24 hour call at the hospital starting at 7 in the morning. We already have 2 cases scheduled and where there are 2 more will follow. I want to sit down and read it straight through with no interruptions. So I will probably start it on Friday on the drive to the Neurologists for my son's 6 month exam. It's a 2 hour drive each way and i'm not driving.

Love to read your thoughts once you get the 2nd book read

I actually liked Furies of Calderon better than the Dresden Files and I never thought that something like that would happen.

Furies of Calderon must be good if you think it's better than Dresden Files. I think Dresden Files is brilliant

I felt some of the books were better than the first and I especially liked how Harry Dresden developes
You get to understand the magic a bit better, and get involved with more stranger creatures.

Finished Dead Beat early last week but I've been too busy to post.
While I enjoyed the book I didn't think that it was as good as some of the previous Harry Dresden books. Of course that could have been because my other favorite character, Murphy, was missing from the majority of this one. Dead Beat has a few twists and turns that I wasn't expecting but as far as so good that I have to reread it right now it wasn't. But as always a "good" Butcher book is better than the best of some of the other authors out there.

I've ordered the first book in his new series to try that out I intend to get Dead Beat next time I make another order. Fortunately Harry is my favourite character, so I think that's why I've enjoyed all the books so far

I finished academs fury not long ago. I thought it was better than furies of calderon; the characters I think are more beleivable than in the previous book. The development of the story continues and we're introduced to another of the non-aleran races, some suspicions to Tavi's background are half confirmed. It also goes into more detail of the political divisions in Alera. I like this series more than the dresdan files books, so it gets a thumbs up from me.

So pleased that Jim Butcher didnt disappointment with this instalment of the Dresden Files.
I so love Harry Dresden as a character, his humour so makes me laugh, the riding in the seat of your pants danger. Excellent!
