replied on: 7/25/2005 8:00:25 PM The books are very refreshing,no swearing, violence only when appropiate and not a page filler, same with sex.The complexity and the characters are what keeps you reading.Definetly Subtle with a captial S. Gary I love trees,I can spend hours walking through a wood or forest just looking at the different trees,I'm transported to a different world,so I do understand why they play a big part. |

replied on: 7/25/2005 8:11:24 PM Thanks Magi. I used to walk often through the woods near where I lived many years ago. One of the areas was a grove of pine trees. They were dense and lined up like soldiers with just enough room for me to walk beneath the boughs and between them. It was always dark inside and the ground was covered, probably about 10" deep, in a bed of pine needles. I will never forget the odor as well. I felt very safe in there despite the fact that it was so dark. Behind the house was a small mountain and in the winter it was covered in snow. A small stream ran between the hills and never fully froze up despite how cold it became. I would sit under this huge tree beside the water and listen to it sing. As the water rushed under the cover of ice, it would whistle in a rhythmic, mesmerizing way. Often I would put my palms on the big tree's trunk and talk to it. No, I'm not crazy! I didn't expect it to answer me. But it seemed so solid and so strong, and so incredibly healthy. Great memories for me! I am very careful with living things, all living things. I try to do only what will make them thrive, and I hate having to sacrifice one for another. It feels tragic to me everytime something dies. I write with that sensibility always. |

replied on: 8/13/2005 10:15:38 PM Rune, where are you located? Amazon UK, CA, DE and US all sell them. You can also purchase the books directly from my publisher. Check out this link: http://www.sffworld.com/forums/showthread.php?t=9627 http://www.Clarkesworld.com sells them as well and that is one of the best sites on the net for fantasy and science fiction. |

I may contact them and see if they are going to be getting any in. I think this is the reason my local book shop doesnt have you listed, they only get books from UK publishers. |

replied on: 8/14/2005 3:29:02 PM quote: I think they are also selling through Amazon. Because the only copies available are from a third party and I'm sure it's abebooks. Thanks for the tip magi, I'll go check that. If I order my Amazon account, then I dont have to give my credit card details to another company. Amazon just pass on the payment to them. |

replied on: 8/15/2005 9:47:10 PM Neither have I. I would go to some of the other sites and links and try them out first. My publisher, http://www.windstormcreative.com will ship them to you directly if you use paypal to pay for them. Paypal is quite anonymous and very easy to use. |

replied on: 8/19/2005 4:18:21 PM I've taken the plunge and ordered The Twins from a 3rd party through Amazon. The 3rd party had high reviews for service and seemed to sell a lot so I decided to try |

replied on: 8/19/2005 5:03:58 PM I hope it works out. I spoke to both my publisher and to Amazon about the problem. They seem to be saying that it's an internal issue with regard to distrubutors and they simple need to get their computer files in order. My publisher has a European distributor, one that Amazon requires, and they have been set up for years. Still, I hope you have no problem with the one you ordered. Keep me posted. If nothing else this situation got me involved, so maybe they will fix it for the future. Thanks. |
