That's nice to hear. Thanks. I hope it gets chosen so that I can hear what you all think about what I am doing.

Yep, that would be a good idea as I'm currently reading it and it will give me time to finish the book

Cleaned this thread up in anticipation of the future discussion. I'm half way through it The plot's more complex that I envisaged, so taking a little longer than I expected to read.

I've finished this book just the other day and will get this discussion thread started

For those who have read The Twins. What are your thoughts? What did you like about the book? Was there anything you didnt like?

I felt the most interesting aspect of the story is the relationship of the Chosen and the Lalas trees. It's an idea I've not come across in other fantasy stories and I found it fascinating

Plenty of scope here to, as the Lalas seem to be integrated into the fabric of the world in this story.
I read in one of the other threads on this board that Gary got some inspiration from walking in woods. I had a go at writing some years ago and I got inspiration for the locations in my stories from holiday places (tend to go to remote places)
So I found the world of The Twins realistically crafted, and I could imagine these immense trees

Who's your favourite character(s)?

A few to chose from here. I liked Thomas, his character was mysterious, yet also you clicked onto his purpose in the story.

Despite him being the bad guy I like Colton I like a dark character in a story. They bring into play grey areas on choices they and others who stand against them have to make.

Thomas, was also one of my favourites, also Cairn.
Colton, isn't as straight forward as you think as the story develops your presented with a soul in torment, he wants a release.

Wait to you get read the next few books...he intoduces some excellent new players

I found Cairn's character not as appealing, though I did like his relationship with Calyx. I quite like unusual creatures, and Calyx was interesting

The Lala's and the choosen's relationship are a very important part of the series.Won't say to much as I may get the books mixed up,but as the series moves on you discover the Lala's have thier own agenda...one that they're not sharing with their choosen

Sorry I thought I'd got his name wrong, but it was March-April when I read them. He's still a cool character...last of his kind but not bitter or twisted,
