It follows Richard who lives in and works in the city, with a good job and engaged to be married. His life changes after finding a young girl injured in the streets. In helping her, he falls into the Underworld, the world that exists below London. The Underworld is a collection of strange places that sound familiar but seem much older than the real world. The character that live in the Underworld at times don’t even seem human, yet look human. Richard ends up helping Door, the young girl, to find a Key that will help her avenge the death of her family. Their journey to find the Key and find the killers takes them to various strange places in the Underworld, and brings them in contact with very strange characters. Some of the side stories are very strange and can add some confusion to the overall story. However, overall the characters are well written, event the unusual ones have a realism. I would recommend this book, just for it's unusual storyline ![]() |
