I've met several but mainly Aussie authors due to the obvious distance issues for those travelling to Australia.

I've met Raymond E. Feist a couple of years back when he was doing a book tour in OZ. Got one of his trilogies personally signed in HB. Other authors inlcude Kate Bishop, Aussies Ian Irvine, Garth Nix and Cecila Dart Thornton and Terry Pratchett when he was out here on one of his perennial visits. Also met Robin Hobb and Jennifer Fallon in Syndey.

If I travel again overseas I intend to meet other authors I've had the pleasure of corresponding with in cyberspace.

I was very lucky when i was in secondary school, year 7. My school managed to get Rosie Rushton to run a writing workshop and I was one of the few (for some reason that I couldn't figure out) that was lucky enough to be invited to attend.
At the opening of a new library section I met an author of some teen self-help books though I can't remember his name. Peter something *blushes at bad memory*
And I've met some very small-time authors at a few local writing workshops: very good people to talk to.

Seemed like a nice guy and interesting to chat to as well.
