replied on: 11/26/2006 10:27:25 PM soo nar i got a question... do you use turpenoid or alcohol or anything to smooth it down? or just tools?? .... cuz man .. i know regular sculpey is a pain in the ass cuz its so soft.. hard to smooth with fingers without messing something else up.. but then again the alcohol and turpenoid helps alot with that.. |

replied on: 11/27/2006 12:47:52 AM Ive used the white sculpey before and that's almost impossible to work with (atleast for me). With super sculpey however, with the help of a wire armature, its fairly easy to work with, however, I do agree with you about the softness. Sometimes I allow the clay to sit out for a while in cool temperatures. I do use isoprophyl alcohol with a paint brush to smoothly create tiny details. I bought my sculpting tools online as well. Theyre a blessing in the work area. You can also stab people with them. lol. My Spawn, has no armature and is of solid sculpey. That was my mistake and paid for it when it began cracking. Luckily, it was salvaged and all the cracks compressed back into a solid block when it cooled. Using foil helps a lot too. |

replied on: 11/27/2006 3:58:36 PM yeah dude white sculpey is pretty crappy.. i wanna get some of that gray super sculpey.. but sweet so you do use isoprohyl alcohol too.. yeah man i thought that spawn was solid.. geez thats a lot of super sculpey.. did it take a few boxes or what?/ ... and ive had that problem with cracking.. the front part of the zombie face completely fell off by the time i got back from japan.. so i had some fixing to do haha |

replied on: 11/27/2006 8:25:15 PM Ahh yeah. It happens. I used an entire brick of sculpey for the torso and head. AND YES! I want to get the firmer grey clay too! I saw it online. I'll post a link for it in the your reference topic later. |
